Project Worker, Greenhill's South Dublin Aftercare

Contract: Full Time, Specific Purpose contract

The purpose of this role is to work as part of the Aftercare Team on a 7 day rota to provide care and support for the young people resident in the project as they prepare for independent living

What you will do:

  • Work within the framework of the overall aims and objectives of Focus Ireland, ensuring all practice aligns with organisational values and standards.

  • Develop and implement individual care plans to prepare and support each resident for independent living.

  • Provide holistic support to young people, including practical self‑care skills, health needs, budgeting, domestic skills, and confidence‑building as they transition from care.

  • Advocate on behalf of residents in relation to housing, social work, social welfare, education, training, and legal entitlements.

  • Liaise with and make appropriate referrals to external agencies and services to support residents’ needs.

  • Provide individual support and key working sessions to residents as part of their ongoing development and progression.

  • Assist in the facilitation of group work sessions for residents within the project.

  • Work as part of a seven‑day rota to support the operational needs of the service.

  • Support the general upkeep of the project by assisting in maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

  • Maintain vigilance regarding Health, Safety, and Welfare risks in the workplace and report concerns to the Line Manager or Health & Safety Representative.

  • Maintain accurate case records, statistics, and documentation, and keep the Project Leader informed of issues arising in individual cases.

  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, training, project evaluations, and collaborative work with other Focus Ireland services, and undertake any additional duties reasonably assigned by management.

What you will need:

  • Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary)

  • Extensive, relevant work experience working with young people in care or marginalised young people.

  • Experience of key-working clients or individual case-work.

  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour.

  • Good understanding of the issues affecting young people leaving care and in aftercare. (Desirable)

  • Understanding of Child Protection (Desirable)
