Project Worker, Georges Hill Long Term Accommodation, Dublin

Contract: Full Time, Specific Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide on-site housing support to tenants in Long Term housing owned, supported, or managed by Focus Ireland.

What you will do:

  • Work as part of the Support Team in Georges Hill, providing services to tenants living onsite.

  • Comply with all relevant Focus Ireland policies, including Customer Service Standards, Housing, Health & Safety, and Personnel policies.

  • Work in partnership with external services and stakeholders to support tenants in maintaining their homes.

  • Assess tenant needs collaboratively, develop individual support plans, and conduct regular reviews.

  • Provide ongoing support through individual support sessions with each tenant.

  • Ensure adherence to Focus Ireland Rent Policy and implement appropriate rent control measures.

  • Develop opportunities for tenant participation in the service, the wider organisation, and the local community.

  • Support tenants in line with their tenancy agreements.

  • Work closely with the Property Management Team on tenancy management, repairs, and maintenance.

  • Support tenants in maintaining their accommodation to an appropriate standard.

  • Participate in programme review, evaluation, and ongoing development.

  • Maintain records in accordance with Focus Ireland policy and engage in required training; collaborate with other divisions as needed; and remain vigilant regarding health, safety, and welfare risks, reporting concerns to the Line Manager or Health & Safety Representative.

What you will need:

  • A Third Level qualification at degree level in the area of social care i.e. youth work, social studies, addiction, psychology, etc and/or be a CORU registered Social Care Worker

  • Minimum of 2 year’s direct work experience in a social care setting.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Experience of working with people who have experienced homelessness, preferably in housing support.

  • Experience of the challenges faced by individuals adjusting to a drug/ alcohol free lifestyle.

  • Experience of assessing and developing appropriate plans based on need.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Willingness to develop professional skills as identified through supervision.

  • Available to work a 7-day liability rota.

  • Previous experience in a supported housing setting. (Desirable)

  • The skills required to advocate on behalf of people. (Desirable)
